  • Lovely Grumpy Sunshine Holiday Romance

Gabriella Di Natale carries Christmas in her name. She loves the holidays and brings the cheer wherever she goes. She works at the perfect place: Bailey's, an independent bookshop.  About a year ago the Bailey's hired a co-manager to spruce up the administrative side of things, to bring the operation side of business to the new century so to speak . Jonathan Frost also carries his bah-humbug demeanor in his name, so we'd expect them not to mesh well... and they don't.  But chain bookstores and online shopping are threatening the survival of Bailey's and if things don't turn around by end of the year, they will have to cut costs and cut payroll. Since none of them wants to step down, they make a pact: whoever outsells the other after the three months will leave voluntarily.  If all that wasn't enough, her sneaky, deceptive ex keeps pursuing her and she just can't seem to get rid of him and her beloved online friend proposes a break before they finally meet in person. And, unexpectedly, she starts seeing a change in Mr Frost's frosty behavior towards her and she can't trust that this is not a ruse so that he can win their bet/challenge.  This is an adorable holiday romance with The Shop Around The Corner/You've Got Mail vibes that is a perfect holiday read. I love that it's a classic workplace, grumpy/sunshine situation and the grumpy one is not the neurodivergent character. They have amazing banter, the story is trope-y but believable and it's a joy to read.  Narration: As always, amazing work by Erin Mallon, the Renascence woman of narration (she writes, she narrates, she can do no wrong) and you get a delightful gift at the end with an epilogue narrated by the oh-so-swoony voice of Jacob Morgan.  Homerun, Chloe Liese!  This is an #OwnVoices story for its portrayal of autism by an autistic author. Possible Triggers and Rep: autistic heroine, hero has T1 diabetes, stalkerish ex

  • MUST READ

This is by far my favorite holiday romance EVER. An absolute must-read. Chloe Liese as always did a beautiful job depicting complex characters. Their life stories and connection are ones many people could relate to. I know I did! I highly recommend this novel and the rest of Chloe’s backlist. Simply incredible!

  • The perfect blend of naughty and nice

Well, Chloe has done it again—not that any of us are surprised in the slightest. This novella will have you swooning in holiday bliss, and wanting to drink ALL the peppermint hot chocolates. Gabriella Di Natale is holiday cheer in human form. Her co-bookstore-manager, Jonathan Frost, is a true grinch though. The bookstore they manage is in financial trouble and the two enter into a book-selling contest, with the winner getting to keep their job when the new year rolls around. Unfortunately for Gabriella, a naughty dream about Jonathan has her seeing him in a whole new light. One that is very, very distracting. Is she going to be able to win the contest and keep the job and bookstore she loves so much? It has enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance, grump vs sunshine, forced proximity and is an own voices portrayal of autism. You literally could not ask for anything more. Plus, in true Chloe Liese style, it's the perfect blend of sweet and naughty. I give it ALL the stars and you should most definitely put this on your wish list for Santa.

  • Perfect Xmas treat

This was a swoony Christmas hate to lovers romance with funny moments, as well as some hot open door 🔥 scenes. If you liked the You’ve got Mail, The hating game or The heart principle, you’ll love this! 5 star plus for me! I want a hard copy now!

  • Christmas themed Enemies to Lovers! Yes please!

I devoured this book in one day with my Peppermint Mocha and want to hibernate in a Winter themed bookstore with a grump. Ok I could take my husband book shopping, it's the same vibe lol. He also doesn't like Christmas music but that is from working in retail and he's Jewish so. I am currently read and recommend that everyone do the same and pre-order. This novella is superb! Chloe's inclusion of neurodivergent and disability rep always brings me back for more and has made her my top auto-buy author. I am just so over the moon that she made a Christmas novella.  The way she explores raw emotions, the difficulties of being in a neurotypical world and representing people with disabilities in a romance is so authentic. Everyone deserves love and I love reading stories that are about real people that may not have seen a person like themselves as a hero or heroine in a story. + hockey! + enemies to lovers!! + steamy buildup to steam!!!
