Elle Macpherson is a supermodel with a lot of tricks up her sleeve.
The Australian stunner, 57, spilled her secrets for Vogue, laying out her multi-step “wellness routine disguised as a beauty routine.”
Macpherson starts each day with supplements from her own WelleCo line, followed by dry body brushing and gua sha for lymphatic drainage.
Next, she kicks off her skincare routine with Ion Biome Skin Support Face and Body Mist ($68) and a trio of pricey Dr. Barbara Sturm products, including the Super Anti-Aging Serum ($350), SPF 50 Sun Drops ($145) and Super Anti-Aging Face Cream ($360).
“When I was younger I didn’t even have a skincare routine. I would go to work and the wonderful makeup artists would prep your skin for you and I didn’t have to worry — I was 18 years old or 19 years old,” Macpherson revealed, adding that she only discovered the power of a proper regimen when she was 50.
“The old adage, ‘You have to choose between your ass and your face’ is kind of true,” she said. “If I’m too thin, it really shows in my face … it’s more appealing to look less gaunt.”
To achieve a “round and rosy” look, Macpherson uses Beautycounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer ($45) and Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick ($68), along with the Lit Up Highlight Stick ($48) and Face Trace Cream Contour Stick ($48) from makeup maestro Gucci Westman’s beauty brand.
And for eyes, the model uses Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner ($34) underneath her lower lash line to open up her peepers.
But while most of the products in her arsenal lean pricey, the “pièce de résistance, the mother’s love” of her whole routine is Dr. Pawpaw Tinted Multipurpose Soothing Balm, which retails for just $8.
“If you don’t have it, ladies, I recommend you get it,” Macpherson quipped.
